Before the Dawn explores the realities of conflict today, its immediate impacts and long-term consequences. Dorman worked as an officially accredited war artist in Afghanistan on a number of trips from 2009 - 2013. Before the Dawn premiered in 2014 to global critical acclaim and is Dorman's response to her journeys across Afghanistan, and the thought provoking scenes she witnessed.
